Pizzas On An Empty Stomach

I came to school early today. I was there by 10am and had one hour till lesson starts. I decided to go hunting around for my friends at their usual eating haunts. I didn't find any of them there. Where did they go? So I decided to park my buttocks beside the koi pond (just opposite of Food Junction) and look at the fish. In fact I had looked at Kois for more than half an hour before deciding to go and investigate a niggling sensation that told me to go MacDonalds.
I found Stanley there eating all by himself. So I decided to give him some company. Stanley is a friend of mine from my previous school. We were in the same class for the initial year before segregating into different classes in the following year.
Stanley is amazing. He survived two tumors in his head which were cancerous. He lived even though he was not expected to. He was wheelchair bound and now he's walking again. I really admire his tenacity, determination and will power.
Well thats all in the past now.
I had to rush for Creative Process class so I said goodbye. Ms Lee kept her promise and treated our class pizzas for lunch today. I guess I shouldn't have ate those pizzas on an empty stomach. I had a serious stomach ache that afternoon. BTW I think Mr 'Leonardy' and Ms Lee are very caring lecturers. You just can't fake these personalities. They're genuinely compassionate about their students.
I knew we wouldn't be able to finish the report writing assignment. SiGH. So we rolled up our sleeves (Metaphorically speaking of course) and did some hustling. Oh no we ended up late for lesson! About an hour behind. So i was unable to observe how the others did their presentation.
Inez gave me a sample of her cake but I was too sick in the stomach to eat. Sorry! It looked good, wished I could've savored it.
I heard that it was sweet. Too sweet? I love sweet chocolate haha.

On ice

I woke up late this morning. Len called me and asked where I was. I looked at my handphone. It was 8:53 Am and I'm suppose to meet her and Wen Ping at Jurong East Mrt Station. Ugggh I'm late again. So Sorry!
I had no choice but to take a cab from Choa Chu Kang Central because it will take me an hour to reach LA SALLE- SIA. The taxi driver didn't know where it was. So I phoned Zero to ask him the address. He told me it was at Kallang Macdonalds...that's very helpful. (BTW to quote a certain Tennis Nut from 0406 "Well Done.") Anyway the driver actually knew where it was.(Referring to Mac)
When I reached the college of arts I paid the him $50 as I had just withdrew money from the ATM (Automatic Telling Machine). He chortled and said that he had no change and asked me to get change from the BP station nearby.
"You are good passenger. Not 'ngiau' like some of my other ones. Sometimes when I asked them to do this they are very fussy."
OKie Dokie, I bought Justeas and gave him the change. OMG he didn't even stop the rate from increasing so I had to pay $16.20. He offered me a lift back to the college but 10m away he saw a customer and ditched me. Arrgh!!!
The gallery at LA SALLE was produced by Salleh Jappar who is apparently a famed local artist. Never heard of him, hahaha. His works were inspired by ancient Malay poetry called the gurindam. (not Gundam)
Shortly afterwards, Wen Ping, Haruko, Shan Shan, Inez, Eunice, Catherine, Anthony, Yao Guang, Zero(did I miss anyone?) went shopping at LA SALLE's Art Friend. Meanwhile I went to snap some shots of the premises.
We had lunch at KFC. Then Inez, Eunice, Wen Ping left for home. Haruko, Shan Shan and Len stayed back at KFC to collaborate on their manga project. Catherine, Anthony, Yao Guang, Zero invited me to skate at Leisure Park Mall. The mall seemed dilapidated and void of inhabitants(due to the Kallang restorations) but there was actually some business still in operation.
This is my first time ice skating. I didn't fare that poorly. Though I admit, I did fell twice. By the end of three hours, I could do a little spin and acceleration. Zero fell time and again. This 'guy' used his wet palms and smothered us with cold water. I really think he enjoyed falling, more than skating.
There was a little girl who would poke people standing anywhere near her. Kooky! She poked me too. I really don't know what on earth she was trying to do...LOL
Following this we had dinner at Burger King and had more fun at the Arcade.

Off form

Played badminton at sports hall today with Zero, Jonathan, Yao Guang, Anthony and Catherine. Earlier I had woke up early only to sleep again and finally found out that I had slept another hour which made me late.
I felt very sluggish today. Maybe from lack of exercise or motivation. There's a saying that goes, 'If the going gets tough, the tough get going.' I wonder if I'm tough enough to survive DEPRESSION.
So I managed to get two hours of badminton before rushing off to mosque for my Friday Prayers. While I was rushing towards the main exit at Blk P I bumped into Romeo. He said that he was meeting Philips for their Creative Process assignment. I wonder how they managed to take any shots as it was raining when I left. I met Yusof on the way there but later we were separated when we took our ablutions.
After prayers I bought myself a sugar cane drink from the hawker centre. I haven't tasted sugar cane since National Service. I hastily made my way back to school.
I tried calling Yao Guang to ask him whether he would like to take a few more photos for our Creative Process assignment. He didn't pick up my call so I dialed Zero instead. He told me that they were in Ang Mo Kio. However by the time I had phoned them, I was already in school again and reluctant to meet up with them.

Apparently some of our class denizens had formed a party to visit the exhibition at La Salle tommorow. Fortunately Zero had informed me about it because I was totally left in the dark about it.

Sleepyhead

I slept at 4 am today and woke up at 6am. 2hrs of sleep only. It really took its toll on me at school today.
First lesson of the day: Colour theory. Miss Wendy showed us some paintings from the other groups. One particularly good piece of work came from a Malaysian student. Of course I remained indifferent and nonchalant to the masterpiece. I can't compare my amateurish work to his. I'm still learning to hold the brush properly.(Its the truth)Didn't pay attention cause I didn't want to feel envious. Big Deal! :P
Then we had an hour break when Zero, Jonathan and I rushed to complete our design fundamental presentation. Mr Baktha came late as usual. About 20 mins late. I'm not complaining though, I had an extra 20mins of nap.
Our lesson ended later than the norm. We had to troop over to blk R for Drawing class with Mr Tay. We had to draw eyes, noses, lips, ears and a female torso(its a manikin, unfortunately...lol).I had forgotten to bring a mirror. So I surreptiously glanced at my friends and drew their facial features. Later I made four sketches of the female torso. I love drawing the female body, it's so alluring and curvy.
I told Dorothy that I liked drawing breasts and she said that I was very honest. Inez and Eunice said that my rendered breasts were proportionately wrong. Dorothy, Zero and Jonathan were seating abreast of each other. I just adore drawing classes.

Freeloading

At 12 pm today group 0406 went to Fast Food Court for Lunch. I decided to drink Green Tea only as earlier in the morning I had eaten breakfast at MacDonalds. Hmm...my friends can't seem to finish their food and gave me their leftovers. I wasn't pleading or anything but it didn't hurt to finish their lunch. Anyway it was really great to eat free food...haha (Cheapos rule!)
I didn't spent more than a dollar on Green Tea and yet I get to sample the fries and Mac spicy patte. I felt my hunger satiated and I saved money...finally I have a fool proof plan to save money for an apartment! I'm just kidding...
Oh yeah speaking about freeloaders. Why am I the only one working on the comms skill report writing?? I thought it was a group effort. Sobs...they left me there alone in the lab giving me excuses that they had to redo their assignments...well nvm its up to them. I can't stop them from leaving. I wonder if we can complete the assignment by next Tuesday?

I decided to change my style of writing to a more casual approach and add more narration. The change is subtle but I hope its friendlier than the former syle.

Rainy Day

I'm tired.

I need a break.

I feel so weak and helpless.

Am I underperforming or is this how high the proverbial sky is?

It's so easy to express my doubts and problems.

Stylized and posh.

Nobody really understands me.

Singular and eccentric.

A cube in a circular peg.

Give me a moment to breathe.

Back to reality...

Its always raining.

I can't blog today. I don't have the mood. Sorry.

Simple life

Gosh, yesterday evening, during the 'Understanding Media' lecture, Zero lamented that few people in our group blogs everyday. Personally I feel that my life is pretty simple and I'd be hard pressed not to say, that it's boring too. I mean would you like to read blogs of me stating mundane everyday stuff e.g

Wowee woke up this morning with a cheery smile
Brushed my teeth. Oh no I found a zit again...
Hmm i'm still so lonely - arrgh the pain of being single. It hurts!

I'm 21 and I still live with my parents. I'm such a loser. Sobs.

Well maybe you would. However, this is MY blog, so I'd like to show facets of my life worthy of sharing with the 2 readers who actually read it anyway....hahahahah

Dodge: True Spoilers Ahead

I went to see, 'Dodgeball: True Underdog Story' together with Zero(Yan Wei) and Yao Guang at Junction 8 yesterday. This movie is a riot in terms of hilarity, slapstick violence, politically incorrect statements and sexual innuendoes. Ben Stiller's character, White Goodman, is an egomaniacal, self-centered narcissist, bent on taking over Average Joe's Gym owned by Pete La Fleur(Vince Vaughn) due to some personal grudges.
So, the gang of average Joe's(a student who was onced crushed by elephant girl, a middle aged man with a mail ordered Chinese wife, two ex-airport staff, a pretend pirate and lastly 'I have no goals' Pete) have to raise up to $50 000 dollars to save their beloved gym. Some scenes were just so side splittingly funny. For instance the training segment when their psychotic coach threw monkey wrenches at them.
I love the witty dialogue and comedic banter of Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. White Goodman is a nut job who keeps contradicting himself, 'Nobody makes me bleed my own blood!". There's lots of girls in skimpy bikinis washing cars, dancing cheerleaders, SM/Bondage outfits(Pete wore a collar with the word Daddy haha), celebrity cameos (David Hasselholf, Chuck Norris, Lance Armstrong, William Shatner...)and below the belt hits. In other words, a comedy that throws everything at you, including, literally balls of all sizes -Remember to dodge, duck, dive, dip and...dodge.

Fool Again

I was playing badminton this morning at the Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) sports hall with Yao Guang and Anthony. At 10 am a group comes in and uses court 7 that we had booked a day in advance. At that time we were using another vacant court and unperturbed by their presence. But thats not the story(going off tangent there)...I'm really embarrased to say this but I saw someone attractive in that group and later Anthony managed to persuade her to play doubles with us. I was paired up with her so I was quite happy that my orchestrated, premediated plan had progressed smoothly.(sorry Anthony I had to make use of you...haha.) You had to be there to see what a wreck I was. My body was stiff and I was so nervous. I'm 21 and this is so cliche*...I've been there and done that but I'm still the same twit from my befuddling teenager years. During the match I whacked my finger with MY racket. That never happened before(referring to the whacked finger agenda)...could have talked to her but my words were slurred and barely audible. Arrgh! I'm such a kluzty flirt. At least I managed to find out that her name is Michelle.(Her friends urged her to go for lunch and I heard them call her name)I have such a bad history of infatuations. Fortunately she's a stranger and I won't get to see her again...

The look of love
Is in your eyes
The look your smile can’t disguise
The look of love
Is saying so much more
Than just words could ever say
And what my heart has heard
Well it takes my breath away

What A Wonderful World

Sunshine

I must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I felt so angry this morning. I was in such a foul mood all the way to school. A woman bristled against my plastic bag and I scowled. The Mass Rapid Train(MRT) was crowded so I grimaced. Suddenly it was raining. Someone was walking and smoking in the sheltered walkway towards NYP, I cursed. I hate it when the ashes settle on my shirt. CURSES. I would like to take this opportunity to quote Captain Haddock of Tintin fame,"Blundering Blistering Blue Barnacles!"
As the anger reached an insurmountable rage, I had notions of lashing out at the irksome crowd. Woe be the poor devil who dare to cross paths wit' me Arrrgh. (*Note: imagine an angry bespectacled pirate or laugh incessantly at my poor attempt of humor)Thankfully my anger dissapated. All due to the song that I was listening at that moment, 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong. Truthfully, I can never stay angry when I'm listening to sentimental oldies like this. It really saps the anger out of someone.
Now repeat after me...

The colours of the rainbow,
so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands,
sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

Awww....I feel so warm inside

Golden Oldies

Due to watching Samurai X yesterday I had a relapse of memories dating back from my Primary School days when I saw cartoons of the late 80's and early 90's. I really adored series like MASK(not The MASK), Transformers and their counterpart spin-offs, HE-MAN, She-RA, Voltron, GI JOE, Spiderman and friends, The Real Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Duckula, Thundercats, Dungeons and Dragons and Saber Rider(just to mention a few). They were really the best animations of that time. Even Disney had produced some wonderful cartoons like, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Tale Spin and Winnie The Pooh Bear. Most of the animated characters were realisticly rendered and had unforgetable personalities. Futhermore they had managed to squeeze in moral issues such as honour and justice through some nice a$$ kicking action. Wow those were the times...sigh. Nowadays, cartoons seem to be more cutesy and power puffy(no offense haha). Created with bold outlines and flat colours complete with the 'been there done that' plots and cliched lines. I really miss those days when someone could say 'Cowabunga' without getting vilified...

The Legendary Slasher

AXN is screening episodes of Samurai X again. I can hardly believe it... I love this show. A wandering Samurai who gave up his slashing technique to redeem his soul while protecting innocent people with his sakabatou (reverse edged sword). He finally stops traveling when he meets Kaoru, master of the Kamiya Kashin Dojo. (Inherited from her father) In further episodes Yoshi(Yahiko) and Sanosuke are introduced as the supporting cast of Kenshin's group. The fight scenes are incredible and I get goosebumps everytime Kenshin's eyes become yellow (hitokiri!!) Its incredible that along the way Kenshin has not killed any villains and he even manages to reform some of them. You got to hand it to this guy, he appears to be diminutive (158cm), weak and effeminate (he does household chores with ease) but when he's provoked, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Ha ha according to both tests I'm Kenshin...which I believe is hardly accurate. Anway even if it was true, I wouldn't admit to being dimunitive, weak and eff...

Nostalgia

Time: 1:04 AM Monday September 6th Term Break Ends

I am staring at my painting and I feel nostalgic. I am thinking about the past because I'm listening to a Midi of the Chrono Trigger theme. It was one of the best RPG games ever created by Squaresoft (in my opinion). I had fun playing the lead character and finding myself immersed in a world unlike ours. A world where magic exists and heroes save the day by foiling the plans of the wicked villains. When I was playing CT I had even had the audacity to wish that the adventure never ended. Truthfully I wished I had the ability to create such diverse worlds of myth and legend. I can find myself escaping the problems that exist in my life. I guess this is an addiction.
I cannot allow myself to be indulged in these throes of fantasy. Sadly they do not exist. They are merely figment of imaginations conjured by people, just like myself. I have to follow through and fix my problems.
I am looking at my painting again, it is still terrible but I can make it better.
(Somehow my server's link to Blogger.com was cut so I had to save this in Wordpad for the time being)
